question about errors
Ive had players have wild throws to first that pull the 1B off the bag and go as hits intsead of errors...also, i dont see any wild pitches or wild throws to first that need to be scooped or get past the 1B..is this happening for other players? Just wondering..this game is really awesome thoTags: None -
Re: question about errors
Maybe this will help...
See the official rules - in partlicular Rule 10.13(d)(1). Also see 10.05 and 10.06. What it comes down to, at least in real baseball, is a judgment call on the part of the official scorer. I don't know how, or if, the game simulates this. But take a situation where a SS goes deep in the hole and tries to throw to first. The question is whether or not IN THE SCORER'S JUDGMENT a good throw would result in an out. 10.13(d)(1).
I've seen it both ways in the game, I think. Throws frequently draw my first baseman off the bag, and I've seen him look as though he's scooping throws up now and then. Most of the time I get the out, but when I don't I've seen it scored both ways.
I don't have a clue how the game simulates all this. Technology is a great thing, but I've yet to see the computer chip that make a judgment call.Comment
