The damn Cubs curse is apparently coded into the game!
Anyone who's a Cubs fan (or a rabid BB fan in general) knows that the Cubs often kick butt in the first half of the season, only to tank SEVERELY in the second half. I played my 1st season with the Cubs, played 1 game out of every series, and got to the all-star break in first place with the 4th best record in the majors (Yankees, Red Sox, and...forgot who had better records). In the time since then (granted, only about 3 weeks), my boys are tanking. I went from 2 games up to 3.5 back. I may be overreacting, but, being a Cubs fan, I'm both an optimist AND a pessimist....that's my Cubs....Tags: None -

You need to go back and take a look, historically, at the Cubs. There have been MANY times that the Cubs finish the first half of the season in good shape, above .500, and in close to the top in their division. They then proceed to fall apart after the AS break. Now, they may win their division or make the playoffs once every 20 years, but if the season ended at the AS break, that gap would be substantially lower.... Don't be pickin' on my Cubs!Comment

Im not pickin on them at all. They and Harry Cary have a special place in my heart. AFter school I used to come home and catch a lot of their games on WGN here in philly. I loved them. Jody Davis was my favorite player for years.be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.Comment

Maybe sim less games so you have some control. I just won the Series with the Cubbies. However, I only simmed about 3 games (in a 20 game season).
Also, are you having it sub guys? Some of them might be getting tired. I would recommend too getting some better guys for the bench. For me, Farnsworth isn't very good (and only has 73 rank) so I traded him. Also, check out the free agents. Sometimes, there are some good old guys. Since they're old, you'll probably only get a season or two out of them, but they're nice to have on the bench.Comment

As a Giants fan I'll tell you that if anyone can break the curse over the Cubs, it's Dusty Baker. That was a big loss for the Giants. I think he'll do a great job there.

Re: The damn Cubs curse is apparently coded into the game!
I am playing a regular 'full' season, playing one (or maybe two) games each series and simming the others, this works out to around 27 games that I have played during the first half of my season. I was simply messing around and wanted to see what would happen if I simmed the rest of the season (I am two 1/2 weeks past the AS break). I did this 5 or 6 times (not saving and reloading my original season) and EACH time I finished AT LEAST 7 games back and out of a playoff spot. No real injuries popped up and nothing unusual. I did this out of curiosity because the CPU appears to have gotten harder since the break.Comment
