New to the game and the Boards!

First I would like to say hello to everyone. I am so glad i found this place. i have been lurking for about a day or so and must say this place is GREAT! Ok my thoughts and a little about myself gaming wise.

This is only the 2nd Baseball game I have bought for my PS2. First was Triple Play a few years ago. Need I say more why I haven't purchased since? Anyhow I saw all these new games and that EA had taken a year off to revamp their new title. So I was curious at that, but the nightmare still lurks in my head of TP. So I got a chance to demo this at EB and fell in love. Walked out with WSB2K3 and Auto Modellista which was only game I intended to buy. First impressions.....I LOVE IT....BUT I am terrible. I am avide sports player (mainly football and some Bball) I also like racing and until this week still couldn't get SOCOM out of my PS2. First 3 or so games I played I got WAXED!!! So then i discovered this (via a plug on gamefaqs) I instantly started looking at sliders. Well my first sliders to try was Cells. I pretty much used them as stated. I wil list them how I had them. i belive all I chaged was CPU batting eye down to 80. So I fired it up.....Reds vs Pitt. Graves started for me and he went 6 gave up 1 run 7 hits and 4 SO's. Heredia came in for MR and went 2 1/3 with 3 runs 3 hits and 4 SO's. For totals I still gave up 13 hits 5 runs. I myself had 6 hits and 1 run (Larson hit a solo shot) Their pitchers had 9 SO's total and I had 10 total. I also set the batting cursor to medium as I am REALLY struggling. i seem to swing early ALOT also.

So do you think the sliders are close for the stats I got for the one game, and do you think the results just reflect I need to play the game more? Thanks for the help in advance and I will see everyone around!

    Welcome.

EA didnt take the year off, they developed MVP Baseball. Triple Play was canned as a franchise.

As for sliders, i play default Allstar and it's fine for me. Im not crazy about having to walk the computer and stuff though.

those stats seem about right. i dont remember how my sliders are. i just messed around with them only for a little bit when i got the game and i'm having realistic games played as far as i'm concerned. i dont want to screw around with them till i start tearing it up constantly. but in the meantime i'm 3 games behind the redsox in the month of may and soriano has just been named al player of the week.
