I have some great classic cursor batting advice for all star level!

I have studied long and hard on how to be a better batter with the classic cursor on all star level. I averaged about 4-7 hits a game, but had 10 or more K's a game also. It was killing my team, so I studied and studied and came up with a strategy.
The 2 seam fast ball, curve ball, slider and changeup (4 main sinking pitches) sink as they come to the plate. If a pitcher has an arsenal of those pitches (and lots of them do), if they throw low in the zone, do not swing, it most likely will drop out of the zone for a ball. Wait for a pitch up in the zone, because pitches up in the zone do not break as much, therefor you get a better bead on the pitch. Now then, If a pitcher has a 4 seamer...it rises...usually a pitchers best pitch will be his 2 or 4 seamer fast ball. While the instruction booklet says the pitchers best pitch will be the square button (PS2), its actually the X button in the game...the booklet messed up. The 2 or 4 seamer will be thrown alot, if a pitcher has a 4 seamer, guess that pitch with the L2 button, and wait for it, it will come, when you guess right, your cursor gets bigger and the increase in size is just enough that the pitch can't get out of your cursor when it rises. Therefore you still make contact. Here's a run down....
    1. If pitcher has sinking pitches (2 seamer, changeup, slider, curve ball) don't swing when pitch is low in the zone, its gonna be a ball.
    2. If pitcher has 4 seamer, get ready, he's gonna throw it at least twice per bat, if not more, guess the pitch, and when it rises, the increased cursor size will not allow it to leave the area.
    3. If the pitcher throws sinking pitches....wait for something up in the zone, possibly guess high location, or just be patient and wait for the up in the zone pitches that don't break so well.
I did these things and instantly cut my K's in half, and had an offensive explosion of 8 runs immediately. Even jacked 3 homeruns in one game.
Good luck. If you have anything to add, that helps you, post it here!

Not to sound like a jerk, but those are really basic guidelines that any hitter should know...not only in ASB, but in real life also...Why do you think it is called a "hanging curve"? Cuz it is up in the zone (and as you pointed out, breaking pitches up in the zone don't break as much), and it is a meat ball. But, for those not in the know, then this is really good advice, cuz I realize that not everybody that plays ASB has played baseball before.

Personally, the only time I ever guess a pitch is when I am facing a knuckle-baller. I don't want the penalized cursor for the other pitches, should I be unlucky enough to not see a fastball, or not be able to catch up to it.

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a ttoal jmulbe and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Like I said man, I was just pointing out that this is common sense to a lot of us, but I still gave you props for saying something that (maybe it is just me) we may have assumed everybody knows.

I hold no grudge against you, and I enjoy reading a lot of your posts. I find some of them very helpful.

I would edit it if I could, but I can't any longer.

My general batting with Classic is, if it looks like you could take a hit, then take a swing. I seem to strikeout alot though do this method. Also Drag Bunts seem to work really well.
