    Flawed UGO article

I generally try to respect reviewers opinions, they are certainly entitled to their viewpoint. There seems to be a disturbing trend this year, however, of seriously lacking or even inaccurate reports on the game. UGO really criticized the game in the posted article, even to the point of calling it basically Triple Play with a new name. Right off the bat they blow any sense of legitimacy when they boldly shout "THERE IS NO CHECK SWING". Well, my copy certainly has a check swing, and in fact it is one of the most accurate representations of a check swing in my book. They also talk about the need to revamp the pitcher/batter interface. Huh? Even those who prefer other titles tend to enjoy the pitcher/batter interface. To call it the most unrealistic one out there is just plain goofy. Like most people, I recognize the tweaks that need to be made to MVP, just as there are similar ones required in the other games......but personally I find the actual pitching and batting interface to be the most realistic out there. I think the perfect formula this year would be to own 2 bball games since they are all so different. If you are considering MVP at all, just make sure you give yourself a full 6 or 7 games to really appreciate the realistic subtelties that go into the core of the game and watch the tutorial. Many of these reviews appear to have spent less than an hour with the game.

i agree, that's why i never pay too much attention to reviews. It's just someone's opinion, nothing more.

I totally agree with you, krispy, especially in regards to the check swings in MVP. I really don't know what game they were playing, because I think the check swing "system" in MVP is the easiest to use since the NES days.

On somewhat related note, EGM is still insisting that it takes 9 seconds inbetween pitches in WSB this year. I have played a lot of WSB games, and I am not seeing it at all.
