What needs to be kept in mind is the way in which the games are played.

I think that most of us swing at A LOT more than the pros do, thus more hits, lower pitch counts. Therefore it stands to reason that if WSB followed pitch count only, every starting pitcher could go the distance and the results would be no real need for MR or LR pitchers. Rarely in a game will I come close to 100 pitches.

I think they did a great job balancing realism and arcadey play in theis regard.

Why is it that after 70 pitches, my pitcher is exhausted? For example: Jason Schmidt is exhausted after 75 pitches in the 6th inning, while Bartolo Colon who has the same exact stamina rating has pitched around 70 and is perfectly fine and no where near tired. Is there any way to correct this?

        <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

What is your ratio of holding down the pitch button for faster speeds/more effectiveness opposed to just taping the pitch button?

That will have a huge affect on how long your pitcher lasts.

I thought that my pitchers were getting tired too quickly too- i had kevin brown throw 60 pitches over 5 innings and he was tired- but last night i pitched 6 innings (giving up 11) hits with maddux until he got tired- so i think tapping the button definitely conserves energy

I generally only 'tap' the button, saving the 'extra energy' pitch(es) for when I am trying to get the 3rd strike or when I know I am only going to have my pitcher face one or two more batters. Stamina has not been a problem except for my pitchers who have less than 100 stamina....(starters, that is).

Yes, DEFINITELY tap the button if you feel you're losing too much energy. If that doesn't work, edit each of your starting pitchers 10 stamina points up... it only takes about 30 seconds total.
