That is the only flaw I have been able to find with this incredible game. It is very easy for me to steal. I haven't tried stealing with my slower players but I send Ichiro on the first pitch every time he gets on and he never gets thrown out. I hope they do something with next years game to make stealing harder or at least giving me the option to make stealing harder. Despite this flaw in the game it is still the most amazing baseball video game I have ever played. I am playing with sliders pretty close to xcell's sliders and I am getting very realistic statistics.

I was thinking that probably the only way to make stealing realistic in a baseball video game would be to make it so when a person tries to steal a base that it becomes automated and based solely on percentages. I have never seen a baseball game where you just can't steal like crazy on it. -

i have not been able to steal like crazy at all.. whenever i take the smallest lead i get picked off.. and i cant steal unless i get a lead... i have only stolen 2 bases so far this year.. i actually thought it would be a little bit easier from the way people have been talkikng.. but i also have ps2.. so maybe they fixed it.Comment

You don't need to take a lead any bigger than the default lead. Just run on the first movement of the pitcher's glove. All I do is stare at his glove and the moment it moves then go. You will make it every time at least on the XBox I do.Comment

It really depends on what team you are playing. I found it very easy to steal against the Mariners and Angels (playing as the A's). But when I played the White Sox, I got thrown out every time. It's not as easy as people say. I would venture to say that you can run on Piazza with anyone on your team no matter how slow he is...but you won't be able to do that with I-Rod.Comment

I was using the Pirates last night, had given Kendall the night off so C. Wilson got some AB's... well 8th inning, down by one, Wilson gets a hit, I pinch run Kendall for Craig... with one out I send him, only to have him gunned down at second.. I was pissed! LOL
I really don't have much problem stealing either... but you gotta watch, and keep your index finger on the "get back" button and the thumb on the "green light" button...Comment

Technically this year IS harder.... seeing as I've never played a baseball game before where you have to "manually" make your runner retreat to the base on pick-off plays. Normally, the CPU sends the runner back and you, as the guy controlling doesn't have to sweat that portion of the game.Comment
