    Re: CPU\'s not hitting me!!!

Give the guy a break. I think he has a valid gripe. BTW, I play on All-star, strike zone on, vibration off I have noticed that
the CPU does not score much against me either. I play the SeattleMariners as my franchise (accurate and unedited
pitching staff except Meche who I had to create) and 29 games into the season, I have a team era under 3.00. The
big thing that I've noticed is the lack of Homeruns that the CPU hits off of my pitcher. This is slightly unrealistic,
considering that Garcia gave up 30+ last year. And since the cpu is not hitting homeruns, they are not scoring
hardly any runs at all because their clutch hitting is so bad. I walk guys on purpose so the stats are more realistic
and they will have guys on 2nd and 1st no outs and they will just pop up or strike out nearly everytime. The CPU NEVER
gets clutch base hits against me. I've tried throwing fastballs down the middle or walking the bases loaded but
nothing really helps. I do enjoy the game, I love the batting interface and the graphics but I feel that they could step
up the challenge a bit in terms of the CPU offense. I just wish they would hit more hr's and doubles and put together
more rallies. I don't fear when Tejada, Chavez (or last nite Durazo) step up to the plate because I know they are
gonna just pop up, k, or hit a soft liner to my shortstop. I m not trying to bash the game I am only suggesting
a little more challenge in terms of cpu offense.

I'm having this problem, one of the reasons why my team is 24-2 and not 14-12... they don't hit homers like they did in my first three games (only one in given up in my last 17 games). I've only given up 6 hits, but they can never get them around for runs.

            Re: CPU\'s not hitting me!!!

my rotation's by no means killer...i play as the giants, nothing changed aside from trading livan hernandez for brower (like irl). I agree with some of your points about the cpu not hitting HRs, and the fact that pitching down the middle is not much different from pitching for the corners as the cpu will most likely do nothing with the pitch. in a sense, that takes away the gratifying feeling of pitching a good game 'cause you just don't know if you're good or not. My ERA's around 3.00, and i do lose b/c i just don't score too much, but that doesn't negate the fact that i want the cpu to score more; i want to come from behind and win; i want to feel the pressure in the 7th of having to catch up...grrr.

well, most who replied seems to not have this problem...do i pitch all that great? i somehow manage to locate my pitches really well even when limiting the time i have to move the cursor...i.e. i can consistently spot my four-seamers to rise up to hit the bottom outside corner...and after a couple scoreless innings, i have a feeling that the computer considers your pitcher to be "on" or "having a good day" and the cpu just won't hit him too hard. for those who says the cpu's smacking their pitcher around for 7+ runs, i think the game considers you to be "having a bad day" and no matter what you throw, everything just get smacked, like some sort of pitcher momentum. just...for me, i don't get those days much, if at all.

more advice? anyone else having my problem? ::sigh::

                Re: CPU\'s not hitting me!!!

I have the same problem. I'm 24-3 with the White Sox, no changes to the pitching staff. My team ERA is 1.78, and I've given up just 4 HR's. I have vibration and the pitching aid both off, playing on All Star level. I've gone to moving the pitch location after the wind up to take away some of the precision pitching, but that hasn't helped much either. If the CPU does get a runner on, they never move him around and score. I too have thrown nothing but fastballs right down the tube, but they usually result in fly outs. I love this game, but it's gotten very boring lately because the CPU has gone quiet with the bats. Any other suggestions to get the CPU to score some runs?

Didn't someone post a thread a while back about how they kept giving up a lot of hits?

What teams are you playing against? Is this a common problem with every team, or maybe you've hit a stretch of lousy hitting teams.

Rumor has it that the cpu has a harder time hitting exaggerated pitching...is that what you guys are using?

I bat w/ exaggerated pitching, but pitch w/ normal. My last few series have been against the Twins, O's, Indians, and Royals. I'm about to start a 3 game set against the A's.
