What game was EGM playing?

I think this has already been touched upon, but the review that EGM gave All star is insane! A 5! Are you kidding me? They complained that it was too hard to field. They said that you can stand in the circle and the ball can still drop. That used to happen to me my first 4 or 5 games. Then i learned how to play! I am so sick of hearing people complain about the fast pitch speeds. I agree,at first they are blazing. But if you play the game for more than a week you will get better! It really bothers me because everything they complained about was due to them not playing enough.I am not an all star fan boy by any means. I own hh, mvp, and all star. It just really bothers me when people complain about things in games, that you can master if you spend a little while playing.A score of 5 is a joke. I really like EGM, and i usually find there reviews to be fair. This was just really unfair.

They did complain about stupid stuff. THey made it seem like the game only has one batting interface (which is not true) and that the fielding isn't hard. Don't take this review, it's done by a bunch of football fans.

Scamden,

I agree wholeheartedly! Same is true for IGN's, TeamXbox's, and the Official Xbox Magazine's review, among many others. The mainstream press really isn't giving this game its due. Like you, I'm no ASB "fanboy," but come on, play the game a little before making a judgment!

What's new? ASB has gotten pissed-on in EVERY review.

It's depressing to hear everyone CRAP on your favorite game time and time again, especially when the solution to all the so-called problems is a little patience and a little practice.

Many on this site have said that the batting can be too easy once you've gotten the hang of it. Since I haven't read any reviewers bring this up, I have to assume that NONE of them got the hang of it. So their review is based on a game that they didn't take the time to learn how to play. This being said, how much stock should I put in the review?
ZILCH!!!! THEY HAVE ZERO CREDIBILITY!!! TOO MANY GAMES TO REVIEW TO ACTUALLY LEARN HOW TO PLAY ONE THEY SUCK AT!!

EGM is also baised. This game is non baseball related, but they reviewed Xenosaga (a good game, better than the FF games) and they gave it some bad scores. I'm thinking just because it's not FF. Same problem goes here too.

I was thinking the same thing when I read the review in EGM. ASB 2004 is a game you have to spend some time with to really appreciate how fine a game it is.

EGM's always been biased. They rate games also by reputation too.
