if you could combine all of the baseball games...

man, i wish it were possible to take the best out of each game and make the pefect baseball game. i would start with mvp as the base. in my opinion it is the best game out there but there are some things that the other games do better. i love the pitcher batter confrontations and the throw meters along with the player models and the smooth animations. next i would borrow some things from wsb. for instance, i would add some of the franshise elements, such as career stats for all of the players for every year of there career. ilike how wsb makes note of players achieving certain milestones like sammy going over 500 hrs or clemens getting win #300. i would also add some of the commentary from wsb such as when the annoucers actually take note of the perfect game you are pitching or that you are closing in on the single game strikeout record. other things that i would from wsb are the high resolution and brighter stadiums along with picther/ batter ejections and the celebrations at the end of the game. oh, and i almost forgot that it is really fun to rob a hr in wsb. from high heat, i would take the games a.i. the game sure is ugly but the baserunners, fielders, batters and pitchers are know what they are doing. working counts, wasting pitches, taking the extra base and bunting the runnner over are all things high heat excels at. i also like the fact that it includes all of the different levels of you minor leagues to manage. then i would a few things from asb. i like how you see you relievers warming up in the bullpen and the mound visits alond with the depth of the scouting reports that you can access during the game, such as hot/cold and which field the hitter likes to go to. i also like the number of picthes the game offers such as knuckle curves, slurves, circle changes and a viriety of fastballs. i also like all of the old time players from the past and the old negro league players. so that pretty much raps it up for me. i'm sure i beglected to mention a couple of things, but believe i have described the perfect baseball game from the main muti-platform titles out there. (haven't played inside pitch for xbox or mlb for ps2) let me know if you agree, disagree or think i left something really important out.

Next I would throw in some capitalization, and maybe a paragraph or two...
“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis Black

i wasn't writing a term paper. oh, but i did forget to mention the real time scoreboards from asb. i think that is the only game to include this. not sure about high heat.

Was that one big sentence? I don't recall seeing any periods....maybe there were, but I started getting cross-eyed trying to read it.

On a nicer note, yeah it would be nice if you could combine the good things from all the games into one. But then what would all the message board and newsgroup trolls do if there wasn't a particular game *THEY* don't like? Geez, you'd be forcing dozens of sub-intelligent egomaniacs to find a life, or a hobby, or both. I'm surprised that trolls don't have a union.

Anyway, every year everybody who plays a particular sports game, whatever it sport it happens to be, hopes that next year it will all come together. Of course it never quite works out that way. As soon as they add a needed feature they take another one out.

Some day, some company will make the "perfect" sports game (hopefully).

                here's to hoping,

                        par·a·graph
                        Function: noun

1 a : a subdivision of a written composition that consists of one or more sentences, deals with one point or gives the words of one speaker, and begins on a new usually indented line b : a short composition or note that is complete in one paragraph
2 : a character (as ¶) used to indicate the beginning of a paragraph and as a reference mark

With that being said, I agree that all of the games have their fine points, and while a game that combined them all would be good, it is a good bet that you'll never see it. In sports games there are different kinds of players and that there will always be a game to accomodate them. Too much of a sim? A casual player will complain. Too arcadey? Sim nuts will go..er..nuts. Game companies need competition or they will become too complacent IMO.
