Yes, the apple rises up for home team home runs...
Don't know about airplanes though.
Here are some other things you will notice on the Xbox version (most are on PS2 also, just not as good looking/sounding):
They have trees moving with the wind in Pac Bell and Qualcomm. They have the water fountains and waterfalls in Kansas City. They have the train moving down the tracks to celebrate Astro home runs at Minute Maid Field. They have the #6 train coming and going behind Yankee Stadium. We have the classic pinwheel light show at Comiskey. They have the Pac Bell water cannons. They have the milk bottle in Fenway. They have the rock garden at Edison Field and water shoot out for Angels home runs. They have the light show at Tropicana Field. They have fireworks. They have strobe lights. They have old-fashioned signs in the retro ballparks and old team logos in the retro stadiums. They even have old cars in the parking lot at one of the classic parks. They have people cheering in French at Expo games. They have a great crowd that cheers for the home team and heckles the road team. They have BIRDS fly past the stadium. And finally, they have the Think Blue sign at Dodger stadium with lights below it lighting up on night games.
They have gone to GREAT lengths to draw your attention to more than just playing the game. This game ROCKS!
