    Question for long time players

I rented MVP a while ago- I LOVED it, just for the record. The atmoshpere was incredible and I really enjoyed the batting/pitching interface.

After about 35 games on all-star, I was thinking that it might get too easy in the long run. My team batting average was .330 at the time. I guess I can sacrifice a bit of realsim if the games are still close. How are people finding it after all this time? Still challenging?

I bought WSB and really like it. However I'm not really into the cursor thing and I just don't like the graphics/sound. I do like the challenge though. What are your thoughts about MVP's challenge?

    I love the game...period.

But one of my concerns is the longer term challenge. I play on Allstar and find myself getting 10-20 hits a game. If there is a way to make the pitchers tougher, I think that will be key. Maybe the new editor will allow us to change pitch speed and effectiveness to where they make a real difference??

i'm playing on pro right now. i win most of my games, but i still challenges me. i figure by the end of the season i'll need to up the difficulty level. after that i figure i will be turning the strike zone off, pitching cursor off and fielding aid and so on. i'm sure i will be able to keep tweaking the difficulty so the game challenges me for quite awhile.

yeah, but what happens when you do everything you can do...Is there anyone out there who's finding the game too easy with allstar, all cursors off?

I have to say that post all-star break, the game seems to up the difficulty. I am not sure if this was just me but I lost 6 in a row post all-star break, before that I was running off 9 or 10 in a row with ease.

To be honest, this game has only improved with age in my situation. Here are some reasons why:
                    1. My first complaint was an inability to strikeout batters. This wasnt the games fault, this was my fault. After a half dozen games I really started to learn how to pitch, and now I couldnt have more realistic strikeout totals and types....it is nearly perfect. I love the learning curve.
                    2. Not enough homeruns by the computer. Vibration off, cursor off, pro level.....I am averaging 1 homerun per game and my ERA is right in the middle of the league average. Seems fine to me.
                    3. Too hard to hit homeruns. This one took me many games to learn how to really drive the ball. Finally, it clicked. I now know exactly when I see my pitch and I have very realistic homerun numbers. It was just a matter of laying off pitches and going deeper into the count and finding the exact swing for the exact pitch. Again, almost perfectly done.
                    4. Fielding. I actually have grown to really like the lack of speed in the fielders. Once I started repositioning my outfielders on every play as necessary, I found the game to play pretty well and actually make me think, not just react. 2 or 3 times per game I wish I had a dive button, but that is more than made up for by the throw control. I do wish there was a little more risk to the red zone throw. Not that big of deal.
                    4. Baserunners slow to first. I still think this needs fixed.
I find the challenge to be almost perfect, but maybe it just matches well with my skill level after about 30 games. I would love an in-game save, player editor and bullpen warmup....but as far as actual gameplay this is the most fun I have had in a baseball game since WSB 98 on Saturn. Great game.
