    Kirby's Innocent

How come no one is talking about this, only like to talk about the negative.

He was my favorite player growing up (because of his name, I suppose) and all this talk of him just left a sour taste in my mouth, innocent or not, he isn't the fun loving, nice guy that we all thought he was..

Ya I was going to say I noticed he packed on some poundage.

My fave Puckett memory has to be the 1991 WS when he caught that deep fly ball in CF that was going out the park. I believe that was game 7 too!

I am sure he is not a perfect person, it's unfortunate that we always seem to go through this cycle with the media, build a guy up into a hero and then rip him apart. These are multi-dimensional people like the rest of us.

It just bugs me when in this thread people were so quick to post negative things about him but when a guy is proven innocent they don't come around and say oops maybe I was wrong.

It's a tough situation with Kirby and this verdict...with all the negative things that have come to light about his past marriage and behavior, the accused actions seem all too plausible. So I for one wonder if he is truly innocent, or innocent because he was tried in front of a jury in Minnesota that love him. It took the jurors two days to decide his innocence...which meant some jurors had to be persuaded. Anyway...I agree with you about the viscious cycle of building players up to be heroes only to tear them apart, but Kirby's behavior as a whole hasn't been innocent despite what the verdict was.

That is the other problem with these types of things it always casts doubt on the person, whether innocent or not and you really don't know what to believe.
