Re: Who else here is a Cubs fan?

    I'm not a Cubs fan -- I like baseball.

Has anyone here been to Wrigley? Can you second my call of posers and frat boys enjoying a party? -- baseball is secondary. Yes, I grant you that it is a very enjoyable party with all those pretty young 22 year olds in their sun dresses and shaved vagandas.

I am a Sox fan and no true Sox fan would ever cheer for the Cubs.

That said, I am jealous of Prior.

Like chippered said Zambrano is only 22 and he's obviously not a prodigy like Prior but he'll get his control with age. He's got a good fastball and splinter to build on along with his o.k. slider. I'd like to see him develop a change-up if he isn't already working on one, I think that would help him but you've gotta have control before you develop a good change up.

That's fine to make the excuse of him being only 22, but I thought this team was trying to win now. If he's only 22 and not in his prime yet then why is he pitching for us? We need people who aren't going to have WHIPs of 1.7 like Zambrano and get veterans if we want to win this year.

It seems that baseball is secondary to most people at Wrigley (except the die hard Cubs fans of course) It seems like most of the fans there just care about drinking thier beer and getting ready to the 7th inning stretch...

There are 3 types of Cub fans to me

The posuers who just like Wrigley to drink

The Cub fans who have no knowledge whatsoever and just talk out of there ***

and The Cub fans who are very knowledgable, and are actually fun to talk to without bringing up "White Sux" in every sentence they use.

1 and 3 are tolerable because 3 is fun to talk to because they ussally have vast baseball knowledge, and 1 is just hilarous to make fun of....but 2, is unfortuantly what I have to deal with the most
                    Michigan Wolverines
                    Chicago White Sox

Since birth......In fact my parents met each other while bumming it in the bleachers (cool huh) Im looking for big things this year just like every year. Moises is off to a good start, Choi has shown some things, and the pitching has been as advertised. As long we stay on the path through the summer we'll be dancing in the fall.

Oh by the way, the Buckeyes are going to repeat this year and Clarett will win the Heisman....BOOO YAAAAA

I wouldnt say that their trying to win it all now. The Karros and Grudz trade was more of an exchange of bad contracts more then anything. Plus they add depth and with Karros, a solid option against lefties. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that Zambrano's WHIP will be under 1.40 and have a solid year. If I'm wrong, so be it.

Cubs fan since '88 (I was in Cuba for 6 months and got WGN and TBS....at the time I knew Atlanta sucked, so I watched the Cubbies....been hooked ever since). I am cautiously optimistic about this year. All of the pieces are there, can Dusty fit them all together? Wood pitched a beauty today.

Unfortunately I live in NY and have to settle for listening to the games via the radio broadcasts on the 'net (for 12$ a year). GO CUBBIES!!
