Damn, Jody Davis! You are bringing back some memories. Remember The Deer, Keith Moreland, The Sarge, Leon Durham, the Red Baron Sutcliffe. Why oh why did Lee Arthur have to give up the homerun to Steve Garvey. Up 2-0 and lose a best of five!!!!!!!!!!!

Cubs fan here! Looking good so far. We're beating the teams we should be beating. Though, the defense must get much better ... 6th error by a PITCHER in today's game. Yikes!!

We're doing a better job of getting on base than we did last year, but we're still leaving too many on base. Kinda wierd to say that given that we're getting a good number of runs, but it's true ... alot of players left on base so far.

With a couple of exceptions, the starting pitching has been outstanding. But the bullpen has been a bit sporadic so far.

Overall, I'm happy with this years team up to this point.

HUGE Cub fan here. I make it a point to point out to this lady White Sox fan at work during every day that the Cubs have a better record than the White Sox.

Re: Who else here is a Cubs fan?

Chalk up another Cub fan here. I started watching them my freshman year of college (87 - Maddux's rookie year and the first year of Dawson's contract). I thought it was awesome that we could choose our own class schedule and I had the brilliant idea to put all 5 classes on M-W-F so I could have four days off per week. As it happened, I was usually exhausted after 5 consecutive classes and what better way to fall asleep than to watch the most god-awful boring sport there is. Baseball!

I'd watch a few innings before dropping off to sleep each day and gradually learned the game and from then on I loved it!

I agree about the fans at Wrigley but it never bothers me. To me, Wrigley isn't a Baseball Stadium it's a BallPark. You see parents with kids enjoying the day as if they were in a park and that's fine with me. I've also heard it called "The Northside Beer Garden" and I can understand that as well but in my experience that's more a phenomenon of the bleachers and not the lower deck seats.

Speaking of the bleachers I have one good story. My first game at Wrigley was in '88. It was a double-header with the Braves. Both teams completely sucked. The joint was empty. For $6 apiece my college sweetie and I got to see 6 hours of baseball. The only fans in the bleachers were gathered in left and right field so we had the entire center field section completely to ourselves and with a strategically placed blanket we were able to do almost everything short of intercourse out there

True story. Don't read the following after eating....

Tragic postscript was that it was cold as heck out there so we didn't really notice the sun but six hours of straight sun without skin protection is brutal! I had chunks of skin coming off my nose with puss dribbling out and my girlfriend's back had cracks in the skin so deep that blood came out ICK!

                        CUBS SUX

jk, I'm a Sox fan. Only reason I not a cubs fan is because they simply have to many freakin day games. Dont they know ppl gotta work in the day. I've seen grown men, attorneys at that play hookie to watch a cubs game. I've only caught a few weekend games cause thats the only time you can catch em.

But, I grew up on the south side of Chi so thats mainly the reason why I like the Sox. But, I tell you one thing, its nothing like going to a game at wrigley, beutiful place and not a lot of eye candy like electronic scoreboards and dancing mascots so it keeps you focused on the game at hand.
