Player editor problem
I've noticed a problem with the player editor option. I don't like to edit player attributes, I leave that to the makers of the game, and besides, the way I see it, they may over rate a guy, but under rate another, it all works out in the end. But what I do like to do is edit the jersey number. So I went into my team and edited the jersey numbers for about 4 guys and when I started my franchise, I started noticing that some of the players I edited had different overall ratings than that I remember them having. I have figured out when you edit a player, his "Health" rating changes automatically. This can not be edited by you, and does effect the overall rating of the player, especially pitchers. Also, for pitchers their "Effectiveness" rating is aoutomatically changed as well, which along with the health rating, can drastically change a pitchers overall rating. This is the second complaint I have against the game (the 1st is the roster analysis screen), it's not a game killer, because I can use the original jersey numbers very easily, but it did suck because I created a couple players and it takes so damn long to create them at the correct age you want them at, then I edited a few jersey numbers, then saved the roster....then once I started my franchise, I realized this. Now I have to completely re-create my guys which should be another 30 minute ordeal as the age is random. If I had one request it would be to include age in the create player screen, I suppose health as well, and get rid of the roster analysis requirements...I guess thats 3 requests...anyways thanks for listening to my rant.Tags: None -
Re: Player editor problem
I agree, they really should have given us the opiton to set a player's age...but I have found one way around it. IF you are in franchise mode, find a minor leaguer of the same or close to the same age and edit that player to reflect the abilities of the player you want to create. For example, I am a Mets fan so i created Jose Reyes, the 19 year old SS prospect. IN the Mets minors they had a guy named Derrin Gant who was a 19 year old SS, so i just edited him. It's a pain sometimes to find someone who is the right age, but it does help a little -

Re: Player editor problem
Not only that, but you also have to get the correct throwing arm and batting. I don't think you can edit those things either. But my real problem is the health rating and how it affects your overall rating, even if you just edit the jersey number, it still changes the health rating which changes the players overall rating sometimes.Comment

Re: Player editor problem
They should add the option to change ages (I will be putting some veterans on my team next year). Also, I think the pitch ratings should be like 2003, where you can choose the pitch and rate it yourself. I also want to have fifth pitch option for a couple of my guys (2 or 3 people on my team). I'll have a few with 3 pitches.Comment
