it's always greyed out, i have a man in the bull pen but i can't do a mound visit, it's always greyed out, any ideas?

Also if you let the CPU handle subsitutions you won't be able to visit the Mound.

nope, still can't do it. im using a PC with a sidewinder usb gamepad. i noticed when use just the keyboard to play then the mound visit is available but when i play with the gamepad it's always greyed out. what could be the problem?

I can't speak for this year's version, but the inability to do mound visits has been a common problem throughout the years. I'm not sure, but this may help:
I'm using a USB logitech wingman gamepad and I had exactly the same problem. Turns out, when I went to use the menus, I would hit the "esc" key on the keyboard and the option would be greyed out.
So, getting annoyed, I tried hitting the "start" button on the gamepad and lo and behold, the visit the mound option was available!!! So, if you haven't tried it yet, DO NOT use the keyboard, hit only the start button on the gamepad, and use the gamepad to nav. the menus and the option should be available.
