How do you release a player from the Roster Management screen?

Trying to make an XBOX roster set so you guys can download it from Action Replay, but I cant figure out how to release a player and get them into free agency. Can anyone help me?

Under modify roster, there is an option called cut. Use that to cut a player.

You have to put your highlight on the part where it says Majors, then change it through your minor leagues, through DL, to cut. Sorry, I'm writing this from memory, because I cut a player last week, and I don't have my game on right now.

I found out where to do it WITHIN a season, but what about from the roster management screen at the main menu?

you can only cut players from season mode...however your season rosters and main menu rosters should be the same (if you load roster after exiting season)
