CPU and human hitting in All Star mode?

I'm playing at pro level. Can I expect an increase in offense for the CPU? (which I'd like to see)
And will my already lackluster offense suffer more at the Allstar level?

I've been playing on All Star level since I got this game....(never been on pro so I can't say what the offence is like)...The computer in my games gets some runs...scores like 8-6, 4-1, 3-2, 5-3.....My franchise record is 6-7 with the Yankees, so that should tell you a little about All Star level...I'm also getting realistic hits and K's vs the computer....
Try it....see if you have more fun....Good luck !!!!

            snaz,

Seems to me like there is more HR's on Pro, but the computer teams don't play as well.

All-Star is harder to hit, but the game plays closer to MLB standards, imo.... WITHOUT the hr's and computer team K's.

I really hope they fix the pulling pitcher out too early, k's, and hr's for MVP 2004. This game is so close.

I sim a few, play a few... Cardinals just blew me out 7-0 behind Woody Williams. (I started with the Brewers for a change this time around). I'll usually play a key game or two in a series and sim the rest, that way stat integrity is kept for the most part.

I get alot of strikeouts on All Star, with the Twins pitching staff (not exactly a group of strikeout pitchers). I had to switch from Pro where all of my pitchers were averaging well over a K per inning. Now I'm getting between 6-10 K's per game total, right around major league average.

I still don't hit many homers on All Star, but it hit plenty on Pro. Unfortunately the cpu can't hit on Pro, even with the strike zone and pitching cursor turned off.

I hate sliders but I think this game could use 2 sliders, one for pitching difficulty and one for hitting difficulty. They should be able to implement this, you can already change the difficulty during the game if you want. Change it to Pro when you're hitting and change to All Star when you're pitching.

                have a good one,

Thanks guys for the response. Snepp,I might just try that route. Put them at Allstar and myself on pro.
Playing as the Tribe, I shouldn't expect a lot of offense, but I've got the pitching down pat, shutting down most teams.
But you all are right, this game is so close.

Re: CPU and human hitting in All Star mode?

yeah its a lot harder to hit on allstar but pitching is still relatively easy. I played a few games on all-star and the scores were mostly 1-0, 2-1, low scores like that. I prefer to score at least 4 runs per game to keep stats up, so I went back to pro. Only problem is, on pro even with some simulations my team era is still under 2.00

I might try that hitting on pro pitching on allstar thing
