    CPU K fix

I can't speak for the remainder of the league, but I have had some success reducing the CPU strikeouts by adjusting the strikeout rating on my pitchers.

I play as the Astros and like most people have too many K with CERTAIN starting pitchers, specifically Oswalt and Miller.
I don't notice the problem so much with relievers, which might have to do with the limited number of hitters they face. For example if Billy Wagner and Octavio Dotel average 14k per 9 innings, that is accurate (but would be inflated for a starter).

In diagnosing the problem, it seems that the combination of the pitcher's strikeout rating and their stuff can lead to inflated strikeout #s.

In Oswalt's first 2 starts, I rang up 23 K's (against Rockies and Reds). While certainly not impossible, it is a little high.

In Millers first 2 starts, I had 22 K's. Same story.

With Shane Reynolds and Jeriome Robertson, I had a total of 4 K between them.....Cool, a little low, but no problem there.

So I began tinkering, and lowered Oswalt's strikeout rating from 76 to 72, and struck out 10. Much more reasonable.

Same w/ Miller. (from 74 to 72). I am going to lower Oswalt to 70, and Miller to 68 and go from there. I seemed to notice a distinct difference when I made the change.

I suggest giving this a shot and see if it helps.

FYI - I tested the edits against a common opponent (the Cards), thinking the numbers will fluctuate from team to team depending on the hitters.

Put the CPU BA slider up to 80-85, then tell us your k numbers.
be who you are and say what you feel, because those who matter don't mind, and those that mind, don't matter.

Can you guys describe your SO problem. I play as the A's and Zito and Mulder can K a lot of players....usually 7-8 batters if they are playing well. Halama, Lily and Hudson get about 4-5 SO. I never had a problem with SO too many batters....what kind of pitchers are giving you guys a lot of K's that you feel shouldn't?
Those pitchers should be giving you K's...albeit 23 K's in 2 games is a lot but I am playing on Pro and I can't get more than 10 K's if I tried.

I would get raped w/ Cpu hitting at 85. I have it at 37 and I give up about 8-10 hits a game on the average. (which seems about right).

For me lowering the So rating seemed to fix the prob without throwing off anything else.

So if you are playing with CPU BA that high you might not need to adjust the SO rating.

I actually have no complaints about my team ERA etc., just the high amount of K's w/ Oswalt and Miller.
