    Considering MVP....

I am thinking of getting MVP but before I do I want to know how bad some these bugs I hear about really are.

Is the pitcher getting pulled really that frequent?
Are there really not enough home runs? On average how many home runs are hit per game? Does the throwing meter really make it too hard to turn two? Is there away around any of these bugs? Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this.

Pitchers do get pulled early, but it is not nearly as horrible as some have said (it still needs to be fixed though). Increasing the starter's stamina helped a little bit.

There are plenty of homeruns, you just have to learn how to hit them. This requires actually taking some pitches rather than just swinging at everything (very nice I think).

Turning a DP is easy once you do it a few times, the only people that complain about it are those that have only played a couple of games.

    hope this helps you out,

btw, what platform would you be buying it for?

Thanks for the help. I am going to get it for PS2, hopefully It will be a game i can settle on. I like High Heat but I have been playing it for so long I am getting burned out on the engine. I dont expect MVP to be a sim like that, and I actually had some fun with Triple Play (though it certianly wasn't a good enough game to play on a consistent basis)

BTW, Does the other team hit a realistic number of home runs?

The other team will hit homeruns if you don't make pitching too easy for yourself. There are options that can be turned off that make pitching considerably harder. If you play on the highest difficulty and throw a couple of mistake pitches they will take them out of the yard.

Is the pitcher getting pulled really that frequent?

Yes and No. I've seen guys go 3 innings and guys go 8 innings. Depends on runs scored, hits allowed, etc.. Is it a bug? Yes, but it doesn't really bother me that much so far.

Are there really not enough home runs?

On All-Star, I haven't hit that many, but the CPU teams hit plenty. The Giants just hit 4 bombs off me last night.

On average how many home runs are hit per game?

                0-3?

Does the throwing meter really make it too hard to turn two?

Nope. DP's are pretty easy once you get used to them. If there is a speedy runner going to first, you won't always turn the dp.

Is there away around any of these bugs? Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this.

                        Re: Considering MVP....

It's fun...just plain fun! I played a 20 inning game today. At Colorado with the Mets. 20 frickin' innings. It was great. I botched two squeezes, saved a winning run with a diving catch, stole 2nd twice, got caught stealing third once...it's great! I've always been a high heat guy, but man...this game's seeing more of my playing time than HH or WSB. The atmosphere's great.

Occasionally, the computer will intentionally walk you at weird times...the pulling the pitcher thing, i really haven't noticed, controlling the fielders can be odd at times (the meters are FINE, though) and stealing can be difficult. But I played a few games, and i've gotten a good sense of when I can run and when I cant, and now I'm seeing some success. I love this game. It just makes me feel like I'm actually at a ballpark! Good job EA.

Oh yeah...home runs are fine, but the simmed totals seem a bit high for some players. BUY THE FREAKIN' GAME. Hell, I didn't even think I'd like it!
