DeRosa (the most underrated player in baseball) - gone and for what?
We replaced him with Miles? That's laughable. Miles isn't bad, but come on. Fukudome is terrible. Period. Milton Bradley has never plays much more than 100 games in a season. We are going to platoon people in center. Our starting pitching is supposed to be strong but you can't count on Harden. Heilman? Whoop-dee-doo!
Bottom line is this...
I would take Mark DeRosa over Milton Bradley, striaght up, without hessitation.
I would take Jason Marquis (at least he eats up innings and can hit, and run) over Aaron Heilman.
All that has happened in this offseason is that Hendry has shuffled players around a bit but our team is no better. Its just to make everyone think we have done something. Its much like young children when they don't want to eat all of they're vegetables. So they move them around on the plate, and seperate them a bit here and there. In the end, nothing has changed but for some reason we think it has. That's the 09 Cubs in a nutshell.
This is, without question, the worst offeseason I've seen if we don't get Peavy. And that deal is long gone now.
