A letter i wrote to EGM..

This is a letter I typed out and emailed to EGM. (Electronic Gaming Monthly.)

I like your magizine and pick it up when i can. However, I am EXTREMELY upset over the review, or lack thereof, that you gave All Star Baseball 2004. Did you even play the game? In your magizine, there are three reviewers. They all complain: Wha, Wha, I cant hit the ball, it most be the game. They ALL complained about the cursor. This, despite the fact that there are FOUR count them FOUR different batting types. Including Zone which is like High Heat. You can also exaggerate pitchs which makes it even easier. Bryan send: "Its to hard to judge routine fly balls". OMG! put the feilding on assist then if you cant manage to get the player on tha large ground cursor (which shows where the ball will land.) Also Bryan said: "The player models and stadiums are sub-par". I own ASB for the Xbox and I hardly think the graphics are sub-par in any respect. Acclaim used 40,000 ploys per stadium. Other games, including HH and World Series, use only 10-15(thousand). In addition, the amount of polys per player is close to that of WSB. Another reviewer, Todd, also mentions the batting cursor. look in the options, Jeez! He also complains about the fast pitchs. If youve ever played a real baseball game in your life you know thats how it really is. Regardless you can still slow the pitchs down. All G.FORD and Todd did was talk about the batting. Well Im sorry if ASB has to steep a learning curve for you dispite how easy you can make it for yourself. I dont know if I'll ever trust your reviews, or at least those reveiwers, again. Thats not only because of your ASB review but others as well.

And what are the odds that they print that?

i understand why you wrote the letter. letting EGM know many of us rely on their opinions, they need to be a bit more informative in regards to the game details, options, & playability. this years game is leaps and bound above last years version.

and "JohnnyRodz", take a pill, bro....

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

You hit that letter good. Everything you said is true. The reasons I like ASB is because it's challenging.
