    Resigning player and contracts

I've got a couple pitchers on my team with 1yr left. They are asking for a fair price now. But what I'm wondering is if I don't sign them now and they have a great season the rest of the way will their asking price go up?!? If so maybe I need to sign them before it gets too expensive.

Yes they will go up if they have a great season - that's why I'd sign them now...

If they are asking for a reasonable salary - sign them. Even if they perform poorly for half a season....they are due to perform their worth in the long run.

An update to this question. I waited a bit to resign Tejada. At the beginning of the season he was asking for a 4 year extension at 28 BP a year. Half way into June he is batting .320 with 12 HR and 40 RBI.
Now he is asking for 2 year extension at 28 BP! If you want him back sign him right away....don't take a chance. I was able to ink him in for 4 years at 32 BP. It's not a big increase but I probably could have gotten him for a couple more years at the beginning of the season for the salary I resigned him at.

Well I have this young SP, 25yrs, he's pretty good and wanted 20BP for 3yrs. I tried to sign him for 5yrs. He got mad and stormed out of the room. Now he won't talk to me!! Is he now a lost cause, should I trade him, or will he come back to the table after a few weeks/months? Has anybody had experience with this?!?

Yes trade him. I have had this happen to me a couple of times. In both cases I simulated through about 60 games, to see if he would talk to me at a later date, and he still refused. It's a lost cause.....

What does it say exactly when they "don't wanna talk to you"? The most i've seen thusfar is "Doesn't expect to resign." And I traded him away promptly.. (Craig Wilson - Pirates)
