I made 2 trades in 2 seasons. I normally try and just sign free agents at the end of the year.

I try to keep it as real as possible, but I also want my franchise to take on life of its own. But mostly, I'm looking to make deals near the deadline.....minor tweaks in spring training. Pretty much leave the trading to the deadline.

Re: How often do you trade

Only trade I made was because the injury bug bit my team real hard in the 04 season. Lost my starting 3rd Basemen for the year due to a blown out ACL and then lost my top prospect the day I brought him up do to a concussion when he got beanballed by Shawn Estes. So I had no 3rd Basemen left in my organization so I traded a Single A starting pitcher and a Single A catcher (I had three of them there) to Seattle for Jeff Cirillo. He didn't hit for me very much but he did give me a solid glove and got some key hits in the playoffs, espcially the three run shot in the NLDS vs San Francisco in Game 5 against Ainsworth who was pitching a one hitter (he did walk three batters and hit one in the process though)through 7 2/3.

The only trade I've made so far is I got Brendon Larson for Bronson Arroyo because I needed a decent backup at third, and Larson can play pretty much anywhere (he's listed as a utility player)
