Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
Good for him. Come clean, man-up & live the rest of your life as honest as possible. Personally I hope he can move-on with his life. As for MLB, do everyone a favor & get your $#!T Together already..Comment

Not comparing steroid use to murder but it's kind of like admitting you killed someone after the cops find a pool of blood in your trunk. I don't think he had much choice to admit it. I would have applauded him for fessing up in the first interview though.Comment

Oh, I was more so talking about admitting to using in '01 and '02. He could've used the standard approach and just admitted to using during the year he got caught, but he didn't.Comment

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
I'm glad he come clean unlike Roger and Berry. Can we be mad at A-Rod when almost all of baseball was using during this time? I can not. I hate that the sport I grew up loving is tainted and that is why I'm not the fan I use to be. There were 104 players that tested positive in that 2003 test. This just shows that all sports should have drug testing in place no matter who the player is. They should not have the right to not be tested if they want to play. I know in most any job they can make you be tested if it is thought that you may be using any kind of drug or be fired. Sports should be the same way they are no better. This all make what Hank Aaron and all the others form his era more impressive.Relax, it's just a video game!Comment

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
I will say this. He handled this the right way. Not saying I only did it once. His story makes sense at least. He did sign the biggest deal in baseball at the time. He felt the pressure to perform under that contract. He stopped after an injury that he felt was a by product of steroid use. I am willing to believe him on this and say that I respect the man for manning up and saying what he did, why he did it and for how long.
Now this could be his PR team telling him how to spin this, but until I hear other wise. I am willing to accept his explanation and reasoning for abusing steroids. If more ball players (McGuire, Bonds, Palmerio) did it this way baseball might not have to try to clean up the mess of the steroid era here in 2009.Moderator

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
Yeah except we live in the real world. Without some hard evidence nobody is going to fess up to anything. Infact it would be stupid to do so without consulting your lawyer anyway. He played it right the whole way round. Like it or not he played it just like he should have.Comment

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
A-Rod looks horrible in this interview. His eyes are bloodshot, he seems dead tired...He must've really wrestled over what to do but I honestly accept the apology. Of course he was the 'dupe to sign a 255ml contract and have the burden to live up to it but irregardless I feel sorry for the man. I'm sure he feels like he let all of the baseball world down - which he did of course.
I'm curious, now, how he'll perform this upcoming year. If he thought he heard boos before, he'll be in for a whole new worldOriginally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
He admitted to it. He didn't blame it on a tainted supplement. He didn't say he tried it only once. He said he did it for three years. He apologized and, because of that, that's good enough for me. I'm ready for baseball.Comment

Re: A-Rod interview coming up on Sports Center
I am at work so I will not be able to watch until later. When I read that he was going to meet with Boras, I assumed this would happen. You would have to be a complete fool to follow the path of Bonds and Clemens. If you admit mistake and apologize, you will be forgiven by the public eventually.Comment
