Selig considering reinstating Aaron as Home Run King

I'm all for doing this. I think it's safe to say that the majority of fans will always consider Aaron the leader anyways. Either way should be interesting to see what happens the next few weeks.

Last I checked, Barry Bonds hit more homers than Hank Aaron did. So uh, he's the HR leader.

what a mess, seriously what a shameful mess baseball is in. The sad thing is that there is no easy way out of the rutt, and im guessing there are still alot of steroids stuff the next few years.

I say start over, take a year off, have a fantasy like draft, institute a salary cap and steroids test every week. I know that will never happen but to get back on track quickly it would take something like that.

            Selig is an ***.

He knew all these guys were on the juice when they were doing it. He decided not to do anything about it.

If hes going to take Barry and Alex down, he needs to purge that list of 104 players + any other list anyone has, and suspend all those guys for doing PED's as well.

            what a clown.

Hank is the home-run king in my mind; JBH is right - there's 2 sides of stats now: king of the juiced and king of the naturals. Bud Selig is a PR's nightmare; he definately didn't major in communications

Juiced or not Barry still had hit the ball and he usually got only one good pitch per game.

I also agree with this too.

Start testing for HGH, and PED's... Take a Year off, anyone who tests positive for ANY kind of banned substance... you get suspened for the next year.

Institute a Salary Cap, Incl. Luxury Tax. So teams in big markets are forced into some sort of penalty that benifits the league as a whole.

Each team can keep 2 position players. (3-5 prospects) from thier respective systems.

all statistics accumulated during the "questionable" years will still be counted, but with an "Achieved statistics during a time where player were using PED's" disclaimer. Yes this is not fair to everone, but the simple fact fo the matter is, we are ALREADY questioning anyone, who has any great achievement anyway.

                    Have a Draft.

Anyone caught with any sort of banned substance gets suspended for the year.

                    period.

Im just tired of having to question everyone...I mean i finally came to grips that damn near everyone was on SOMETHING, but clearly it is unfair to the game, and players liek Oswalt, among others who are not cheating.

                    its just unfair.

Then we'd rightfully have 104 lawsuits. There were no MLB rules against taking roids when the survey was given and the participants were promised anonymity, which would most definitely hold up in a court of law. ARod doesn't currently have a case because baseball can't and won't punish him because he didn't break any rules. His only chance would be defamation of character and that could get interesting if there are talks about keeping him out of the HOF. His problem is also there's no way of pinpointing who leaked the information, but MLB could still be tagged for not destroying it when they had a chance to. He's knee deep in the hole he's digging himself so the very small chance he has at a successful lawsuit is quickly fading though.

Selig deserves a ton of heat for the "roid era"... more than any player imo.

I agree with JBH that there are two class of stats now and it's a crying shame. Selig should have the rest of the names on that list released and if there are active players on said list, threaten to suspend them like he's threatening to suspend A-Rod.

After that, Selig should resign as he and his cronies all knew what was going on but chose to ignore it for the sake of making tons of money on a false set of accomplishments.

Baseball needs IOC type testing ASAP.

The cold part about all of this is people now have a huge misinterpetation of steroids.

Like its going to make you some great HOF player capable of breaking all these records.

Truth is These guys were already good..no GREAT, anyway...I really dont know why Alex was doing it, other then the fact that most likely everyone elese was...so "why not"..

He just happend to already be better then everyone ANYWAY,plus his natural progression. thus the major production of homers and hits and what have you.

Selig suspends ARod or any other player on that list and the Players Association will have a field day with him and the MLB. The 104 players broke absolutely no MLB rules and the Players Association agreed to the survey and gave honest responses under the agreement that the information would never be released and only used as intended.

Researchers around the world in every field would prepare for a global revolution if this information were allowed to be used to suspend anyone.

You're right which is why it's just a statement to get those who are against everyone from the steroid era to sympathize with Selig and MLB. I have no sympathy for these guys. In fact, and I know it's a huge stretch but this is a micro version of all those business people in Germany who knew what Hitler and the Nazis were all about but backed the movement because it boosted profits for their companies. They all did that knowing full well what would come down the pipe. The owners and Selig let all this happen under their watch hoping that no one would give a damn and then when it all comes out they're now trying to make themselves look innocent.

A bunch of frauds running MLB IMO.
