Fielding positioning
Does everyone position their fielders for each batter? Is that a key part of the game? In other games I've played, I usually just stuck with the normal positions, unless someone came up that I knew was a dead pull hitter, or had no power. The reason I ask is that I'm giving up tons of hits each game. Maybe I just really suck, but it seems like every time the CPU makes contact, it's a line drive right where my fielders aren't. I just gave up 20+ hits in each of my first 2 games against Pittsburgh, for crying out loud! I don't think it's a balls/strike issue, and I've lowered the CPU batting average slider down to 25, but that hasn't helped.Tags: None -
Re: Fielding positioning
I usually do the same as you, put my outfield shallow for really weak hitters and for the pitcher and move it left/right for a dead pull hitter. I don't move my infield too much except for certain situations. I have my CPU avg at 44 or 45 and I am around the middle of the league in terms of opponents batting average. Make sure you are working the corners when you pitch, or else the CPU will hammer your pitches over the plate. Almost every pitch I throw is aimed at the corner. You'll get the hang of it eventually... -

Re: Fielding positioning
I put fielders back a lot of times for good hitters...also, as strange as it may sound, I will also bring outfield in as if they hit it really hard, it will go out, so I'd rather take out the opportunity for a line drive than worry about a homerun.
I wish that we could choose to pull the basemen off the bags when men are on base....that lets a lot of hits through. Also, wouldn't it be nice to be able to pick infield back outfield in as a default setting for an entire game if that's how you like to play (other than certain circumstances) rather than have to switch it after every single batter?Comment
