Doesn't Seem Like Fielding Ratings Affect Gameplay

I question whether WSB really takes into account fielding ratings. Mondesi throws like any other outfielder when trying to gun down a baserunner. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also, it seems like every SS has the same range when fielding. I don't feel any difference to compel me to make defensive changes.

thats a tough call......it does seem that every fielders arm is juiced a bit in this game, i mean, Bernie Williams couldnt throw someone out at the plate from short, and ive got him holding runners at third......however, arms like Vlad Guerrero and Mondesi seem to make the throw more on a line and exhibit more aggression with regards to throwing out an advancing runner, while those with lesser arms will often just throw back to the cutoff man and conced the extra base......at least thats how it looks to me so far

I seen a couple instances of this working the other way. I have Tony Alveraz in my outfield and all he throws are rainbows. As for Bernie the game has him as a 100 rating, that might have something to do with his fielding.

You're using Tony Alzeraz as an outfielder? I put him @ shortstop since he has a 90 in fielding rating....& he makes a perfect leadoff hitter.....
