    Just traded for Todd Helton!

I am the Cardinals, am in first place of the NL Central. I have a 50-27 record right now and am at the beginning of July. So I decided that I need to improve for the upcoming pennant chase. I traded Tino Martinez(because of age) Jeff Fassero(because of age, and he can't get the job done anymore), and Eli Marrero( just to cut cap room and to also not have 10 guys trying to play 8 positon spots). I am eagerly waiting for the chance to play the first game with Helton, on my team, but that will probably have to wait until tomorrow, because I am going to catch a ballgame tonight!

    Peace

That's not that bad of a trade. Fassero is a good specialist pitcher, Tino is a decent first baseman, and Eli is a good player. But I guess it matters what type of team you want and what their stats are in the game.

It's not that bad of a trade but I think he was getting at the fact that Todd Helton is just entering his prime and Tino Martinez is on the downside of his career, however, it's his game he can do with it as he wishes. I don't know how much help he needed for the pennant race with a 50-27 record.

Re: Just traded for Todd Helton!

Given the fact that Fassero stats were 2-5 with 6.37 ERA, and the fact that he had given up 10 homers in 27.2 IP, Tino Martinez has been up and down all year hitting under .250, I don't think that the trade was all that bad. Eli Marrero is the only player that I will miss in this trade. I won't miss Fassero because I still have Kline, Martinez is replaced with Helton. Besides in my season I need help driving in runs. We also have the worst batting avg in the National League. If it wasn't for really, really good pitching from Simontacchi, Tomko, and Williams, we would be up the creek without a paddle. Besides, I have trouble beating the better teams in the league, especially the Astros, I have a losing record versus them. If they didn't go on a 11 game losing while Oswalt and Miller were on the DL, they probably would be in first place right now. So, I don't consider this a bad trade at all.

He meant that the trade is TOTALLY unrealistic. Granted...it is YOUR game and you can do as you wish, but why take advantage of the trade logic. Seriously, this trade would never happen, but my hat's off to you for finding a way to get Helton.

Yeah because you traded players having a horrible season for a very good young player.
