Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
Does anyone think it's better to sim games or to play them all yourself? I've been thinking of simming my games. But then it gives me no feeling of acomplishment. Or I guess it could make you feel like a GM sort of? hehTags: None -
Re: Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
if you're just going to sim that's fine, i couldn't do it , i'll sim a few games against weaker opponents but if i wanted to just sim i would buy out of the park or some other pc game ps2 is a gaming machine, thats why it comes with a controller and not a keyboardi have nothing against all you g.m.'s out their just my opinion!

Re: Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
In my current expansion season I have myself as a starting pitcher. I play when it is my spot in the rotation. I sim the rest. My other seasons I have played I have done the same. Play as one or two pitchers and switch when they play. The stats are fairly accurate and i get a season doen quicker than playing all 162. I can end losing streaks and slumps but never really turn the team around.Comment

Re: Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
in my Brewers franchise i've been playing 1 game per series but i don't know if i will continue that. i may decide to just play 1 game per week. instead. it will probably be a lot easier to keep a journal then.Teams:
NFL - Packers & Browns
MLB - Brewers & Twins
NCAA Football - Wisconsin, LSU, Virginia Tech
Soccer - Arsenal, Wolverhampton
NHL - WildComment

Re: Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
I kind of like the idea of playing one game out of a series, this way, I can at least play a few seasons. My goal would be to play at least one season every month, hopefully giving me the oppurtunity to play about 6 or 7 seasons. I also think this allows you to really grade yourself on what kind of GM you are. Anyone can play all the games and be competitive, but by simming a percentage of your games, you find out how your GM skills are. I'll play one game per series, with an occasional extra game here and there when needed against big opponents.Comment

Re: Simming Vs. Playing Games yourself.
I play every two game series, sim one out of each three game series (switching up first game, next series 2nd game, next series 3rd game, and so on) and play the first and last game of any 4 game series. I think that's a fair way to do it. That way I still have a big difference on the outcome of the season. I think if you play too little, you don't influence the season, whats the point of playing BUT Can't imagine playing EVERY GAME, who has time for that????Comment
