Sucks we didn't win, but WOW, 2 epic games so far. Whoever doesnt like this thing just doesn't like baseball. 2 freaking awesome games.

    Puerto Rico vs. Panama next.

I will give credit where credit is due but it is a shame Canada did not have their aces and key setup guys for this one. Big props to Team Canada and the USA with all their stars had to sweat that one out to the very last pitch.

That was a great baseball game and I guess they got some redemption for the massive upset in 2006.

Hmm well I think failing any crazy upsets, we could get back into it by taking down Italy next game (if they lose to Venezuela). Who knows what will happen. Certainly better to play the double elimination than 2006's stupid round robin format and get ripped on the tiebreaker.

Yes, it sucked so much going 2-1 and being eliminated last time based on run differential because the US pummeled South Africa by more runs than everyone else. Oh well, I had a ton of fun at the USA-Canada game 3 years ago, and as poorly played as most of the Canada-South Africa game was, that was a lot of fun too. Just wish they had it in Arizona again so I could've gone.

                oh give me a break

USA doesn't have any of its top pitchers here and a lot of the hitters didn't bother to show up either.

                Not to mention relievers

Peavy isn't a top pitcher? Oswalt? lol.

Obviously I refuse to use it as an excuse but the pitching Canada sent isn't even on the same level.

Yeah, we know the US doesn't have all of their best pitchers either, but the US still had major leaguers playing at every position rather than A-ball players and mostly A-ball relievers. The gap between Canada's players who aren't there is night and day.

                      WOW! What a game!

Too bad we (Canada) lost but in some ways it's better to go out of the losers bracket as I don't think Italy is gonna beat Venezuela. I'm telling you this is the makings of a great international baseball rivalry. This game had it all.

Jimmy Rollins' throw in the top of the 9th was key, if Stern had been safe we'd still be playing right now.

It was also great to see so many people in the dome and cheering so loudly. It really brought back memories of '92 and '93.

Hey brother! That was a great game. Is there a chance these two will play again?

I'm not too sure, probably in the 2nd round if they both make it.

if Venezuela beats Italy, and then Venezuela beats the USA, and Canada beats Italy, the USA and Canada would play an elimination game.

I'm just confused as to how you leave the bases juiced in back to back innings and produce aboslutely nothing...I'm just glad we got the win.

Obviously you know nothing about baseball and just embarrassed yourself

Yeah Putz, Howell and Shields sure suck..... I wish Canada had relievers like that lol

Give me a break buddy.. The USA is loaded from top to bottom and they can afford for some guys not to show up. When guys like Harden, Dempster say no, and guys like Francis are injured, it kind of puts us in a hole.

Now my initial point was that Canada played great but it would be nice to have some depth on the mound, but your reply really made me laugh.

Great game and big props to both countries. Joey Votto had an amazing game as well for Canada
