Re: here\'s how to create age

i'm sure that many people who create players to keep rosters up to date are doing so during the season since many players like Foppert are not in the majors till late april. In that case, for those people, the best and easiest way to create a player with the right age is to find a prospect who is made up who is of the right age. I am sure your system works fine if you are creating all the players before you get into your franchise, but if you started your franchise a month ago, its too late for that now. So i guess different situations call for different methods.

I would agree in that case, but in my personal, and correct opinion, Foppert (I have no idea who he is), is probably in the majors due to an injury or maybe due to a slumping player, and if you're guys are not injured in ASB, there would be no need to create him. I like to let the franchise take on its own life, and allow my own guys to get injured and assess the team and who to call up. That's why I don't edit player ratings to match what real life players are doing in the majors, because I'll probably have some guys do better in ASB than they do in real life, it all works out in the end, and all in all, makes the franchise more fun, because it's not just a copy of what I'm watching on TV. It breathes and has its own pulse.

seriously man, there is giving yourself a pat on the back, and then there is just flat out being an ***.

anyway, in order to actually have accurate teams and rosters in franchise mode, you have to GM all teams. If you GM all teams, there are no injuries. I choose to follow the MLB transactions and let them affect my season. I do not play for the other teams, so in essence they do "breathe" on their own. If i gave up a GW HR to Jeter or Griffey in my season because i could not take them out (or Nevin for that matter), it would bug me because they are hurt and likely will not impact this season very much (here comes the onslaught of yankee fan posts telling us how he'll be back in 4 weeks. Fine, but he will be bothered all year by it and he will not be the Jeter they know and worship) Anyhoo, I know I am crazy, I once took Patrick Ewing out of my lineup and endured a season with Chris Dudley at center because that is what happened in real life. My point was and remains, we each do it our own way and before you go calling your method the one true way, consider that other people have different prefrences about how they play the game. Thank you, and goodnight.

                            Ahh.....but wrong again my friend.

There is a right and a wrong way, my way is the right way. Period. Because your way is different and due to your enthusiasm and fanatic attitude towards your way, you have the belief that your way is correct as well. But I am here to say, that even with the your love for your way, my way is stillt he correct and best way.

But I will give you credit on one point, you're right.........
