Who is the best defensive minded catcher (excluding Pudge and Old Santiago) in the game? I like Phelps but he doesn't fit into my batting order. Has anyone found a catcher that they enjoy using (with decent defensive ratings)? Thanks

Phelps is by no means a defensive oriented catcher. Miguel Olivo for the White Sox is pretty good defensively. Other than him, you'll just have to check around.Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. For an experienced catcher I would choose AJ Pierzinski. I prefer playing with rookies though. I was between Josh Bard or Victor Martinez in Cleveland. Both have real life potetnial.Comment

I haven't checked his ratings on the game, but i know that Brad Ausmus has won the gold glove two years in a row and he can hit for average too.Comment
