What's the rule on the yellow line on the fence?

Last night, I was playing the cards. Bottom of the 9th, cards up, 2 outs, tied 4-4, runner on 1st, edmonds batting.

He hits one high and deep to right field. No homer cut scene. The little red X was placed at athe top of the wall. . . . i run, jump and try to catch it, but the ball comes back into the field of play. I'm all excited because stayed in the park. . .. . . . that's when I hear the announcer say "thats the ball game." I couldn't do a replay.

IT royally sucked to lose on that play. . . . but that's baseball.
ONly thing I can figure is that it hit the little yellow line on top of the fence.

I got my revenge, though. St Louis led the division from game one to game 160.

I politely snatched it from them on game 161-162 and the cards are at home watchin' the Fury in the postseason!

    The ruling is a homerun.

Anyone know why it is a homer? It seems like it would be easier to judge if a ball goes over the fence than if the ball hits a tiny yellow line.

See ball, not a homer. No see ball, homer.

        Pure rocket science

I'll admit, it made for some drama.
