Nikeford is one of the die hards. He was declaring it the greatest baseball game ever weeks before any of them were released.

Um, last time I checked there isn't anything in the majors that will tell a manager a reliever is ready. It's not like they have red lights over their heads that light up when they are ready.

It says it takes approximately 10 pitches to get a reliever warmed up, and it says that a mound visit will take up enough time for about 4 pitches. Makes sense...it's not too hard to figure out.

I myself like the system they use, its realistic. No complaints.

No it's not realistic. In real baseball, the manager asks the pitcher if he's ready or not. There needs to be something to give the manager a clue. Even if you say it takes 10 pitches, I don't want to sit there and count my pitcher's pitches. I'd rather be able to ask the bullpen guy if he's ready or not. There's a phone to the bullpen to do that.

Re: HH Does Tell You When Relievers Are Warm

What I like is that it will take a different amount of time for relievers to get ready and starters. Say you go into a long extra inning game and have to bring a starter in. He'll take much longer than 10 pitches to warmup. You just have to know your pitching staff or else you'll bring someone in cold. I know my closer doesn't need 10 pitches to get ready. Some of my relievers take 10 pitches while others seem to take a little longer. You just gotta learn to manage your bullpen...

I have admitted that I love the pitching ideas that MVP has brought to the table, I think all baseball should put something like that in, so lets don't go calling me a fan boy just yet, I'm sensible, bring on your debate, Sir.

Yes you were wrong ASB is no where near the greatest basball game ever made, and yes you are a flat out fanboy.

BTW you still owe me your bank account, remember your bet that you thought it takes between 1.5 and 2 seconds for a baseball to go from the mound to homeplate?? You never did respond to that.

More like 1/2 second. A 90 MPH fastball takes 1/2 second to leave the pitchers hand and reach the catchers glove. I'm sure most major league hitters wished it took 1-2 seconds!
