Huh?? I'm 8 BP's over budget, so to trim down my roster a few BP's, I want to release some players. But it is telling me I do not have enough budget to release a player. How does that make sense? Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a quick search but wasn't sure what to search for.

if you want to release someone you still have to pay the rest of their contract,so being over budget wont allow you to do that -

You go to the Contracts, you select a player and for XBOX you press X. I dunno about PS2, but it is probably Square... just look at help at the Contract screen....Comment

this is a cool feature, because i tried just releasing a couple players in my brewers franchise ... this is real life, because major-league contracts are GUARANTEED, meaning players still get paid even if they are sitting on their butt in free agency ...Comment
