Thinking about getting HH, but I need HONEST opinion

I already have WSB as my screen name suggests, but I wanted to get HH because of its realism.

The only things I care about in a baseball game are realistic stats and gameplay and a fun franchise.

But can anyone tell me about some of the cons in this game? Also, since I never played it, how good is the realism??? People are raving about it so much.

WSB Fanatic, I have both games. I am a baseball fan first and foremost. A game can't be fun if it's not real to me. I love WSB. I also love HH. I hated HH at first and I think you will too. The reason is because WSB spoils you with the great graphics and sounds. When compared to that, HH is slow and the atmosphere is GREATLY LACKING. That said, I decided to put in a fair amount of time playing HH to give it a chance because it can't be all that bad to have the following it does. Now, I like it. It does some things better than WSB. But I beleive you will be disappointed. Most people I talk to are because they can't get past the lack of atmosphere. When you get used to WSB fielding, HH is a little bit tough. I had a number of fly balls go by because I play in the behind the pitcher view and the fielders don't "lock" onto a ball like in WSB. Sometimes, the ball drops even when I'm in the circle to catch it. Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The pitches are greatly exagerated. WSB looks more "real". But I can't walk as much in WSB. The AI is not quite as intelligent as HH. HH is definately an acquired taste. Me, I'm thinking of trying ASB now, but have heard awful things about it (no walks, no lefty/righty split ratings, etc.) If you are a diehard baseball fan, you might like HH. Otherwise, I think you'll be most pleased with WSB.

I just couldn't pick up the console of HH after WSB. I tried but it was so bland. That being said I'm playing HH PC now after doing numerous (i.e., tons of) mod changes to the game.

Honestly, if you can get past the graphics and sound you will enjoy this game. It was hard at first to move over to HH from WSB, but after you play a good amount of games, it can get you hooked. The realism of this game was my deciding factor. You will need to move the slider settings to your liking, the default I think was terrible this year. Can't really say too much of the franchise mode since I only do season play. Good luck!
