How do I rob close homeruns?

Where do I place my outfielder when I see that half-circle showing that the homerun will be close?
I see the cpu opponent do it... how do I leap the wall??

I'm assuming, since you can't jump on your own, you just run up to the wall, and the computer will jump for you if the ball has a chance to be robbed. I'm not 100% sure on this one, though.

I robbed my first HR today at yankee stadium, I just ran to the circle and once I got to the wall the CPU had Mike Cameron climb the wall automatically...it was pretty cool. But I've played about 50 games and that was the only time it happend.

You can jump and dive.
If you press L3 up and hit triangle you will jump for ball.
If you hold L3 to left or right and hit triangle you will dive.
You just can not dive forward.

Out of curiosity, how does the L3 and triangle translate to the PC controls? What does the triangle get used for?

I'm assuming that L3 (left analog) gets used to move the fielders then.
