Re: Predicitons for Sosa and Bonds

Sosa and Bonds seem to be on pace for their numbers last year.... Nothing to great, but well enough to be dominant still.... And the Yankees are just awesome.... No better lineup in baseball, and aside from the inconsistant pen(note:without the best closer in history probrably so far this season), to do what they have done so far... I heard a figure on the broadcast last night that is almost astonishing.... they have out homered their opponents 31-4.... and i think Delgado has 2 of those homers.... Awesome, just F#$^$ awesome

            Sosa .333 4hr 16rbi
            Bonds .273 5hr 10rbi

            Soriano .420 6hr 16rbi (leadoff)
            Bagwell .371 7hr 11rbi

I would say that Sosa and Bonds arent great, but dominant.. there is a little bit of a difference

i'm sorry, i misread, i thought you were talking about last year's numbers. yes, i agree, bonds and sosa are of to a mediocre and slow for them start.

Re: Predicitons for Sosa and Bonds

they will have their 35-40 homers this season barring any injuries, or explosive months like sosa had in july of 98... something like 21 homers that month.... but Bonds just wont see any pitches this year... I dont see Santiago and Snow hitting .370 all season long, and the minute they cool off, bonds numbers will be affected. Sosa, is a bit more lucky with guys like Alou hitting behind him... Alou was Mr. Consistancy in Houston.... and it looks like he may be back this season... hitting the ball hard in all directions, last season he was trying to pull the ball all the time to use wrigley's demensions, and it backfired on him... Good year from Alou=good year for Sosa... But Soriano will get his 40-40 this year, i will even go out on a limb and predict a shot at 50-50 if he draws a few more walks, without it hurting his hitting... guys like Giambi and Jeter arent there (Giambi just cant seem to find any holes, or drive the ball through the heavy winds) Soriano has to worry about Torre putting this no good tub of lard, Nick "4-6-3" Johnson hitting behind him... I say they should let bernie bat 2nd until Jeter comes back, and let Matsui or Posada hit clean up... Might give Giambi more chances to hit with runners on than hes getting now... Soriano is driving in all the runs, then Johnson k's or pops up.. hence, Giambi at bat, nobody on base... Hes getting treated the same way Bonds got treated in 2001 with all the walks. if there were guys on base in front of him more often, he would have his numbers right now.. but Jeter will be back, and things will go back to normal.
