    I know what you mean

My girlfriend plays video games all the time with me. She loves to play NBA2K3 on X-Box. I usually beat her easily, but she is getting the hang of WSB2K3 so it definitely is a plus when you have a girl like that.

    Plus she's hot....

Re: I know what you mean

Last night my wife and I played again. She says that she loses focus when two games in a night. Sports games aren't her favorite. Now, Pac-Man? She can play that thing for hours on end!

Anyway, the first game she did an excellent job holding me to three runs for the first seven innings of the game. Then, she piped one to Ken Griffey, Jr. who of course made her pay to putting my Reds in front 5-4. I went on to win that game.

The second game I put some runs on the board quickly, scoring three in the top of the first inning. My Reds were playing at the Astros. She held me scoreless from that point on, even tying the game herself, until the eighth inning. I then scored four runs in the top the 8th inning. I was now up 7-3. She scored two runs in the bottom of the 8th to make it 7-5.

She is getting very good at this game. Occasionally she has those lapses, where nothing goes right for her. She doesn't throw quick enough to try and throw out the base-steal attempt at second, I get caught in a run-down and she doesn't hold onto the ball long enough, and winds up throwing to the wrong guy. Those kinds of lapses.

I wound up going through three relief pitchers between the bottom of the eighth and the bottom of the ninth inning. With the score at 7-5 in the bottom of the ninth, she two runners on and I want to say it was Jeff Bagwell at the plate. I kept throwing her off rythm the entire game (I'm pretty good about mixing up pitches), so I decided to get cocky and pipe three pitches in a row. Thank goodness she didn't hit the power swing button, because with my fastball she pulled a deep drive that stopped just short clearing the left field wall!

Now, she's navigating through the screens quicker, is familiar with the pitcher types, and knows player names and some of their strengths.

Girls that play video games. Only if there were more women like that, the world would be a nearly perfect place.

My wife is also a videogame fan and a big sports fan. She plays Madden, NCAA 2003, and WSB 2K3 with me all the time. She's from Cleveland and I'm from Atlanta, so when we play WSB we have Braves vs. Indians battles, on NCAA we have Georgia Tech vs. Ohio State and on Madden it's Browns vs. Falcons. The best part is I don't have to hold back because not only does she have great relfexes, but she's smart as hell.
