his save percentage is practically as good as Mariano Rivera........he's pretty good isn't he? coming into the season he actually had a BETTER save precentage than big mo..........this is pathetic

Where you getting these #'s from?
Rivera career saves. 243 out of 281 = 86.5%
Sasaki career saves. 123 out of 145 = 85.8%

<Edit> Oh, your right. Comming into the season, Sasaki had a 86.8% save percentage. Ok sure, but he has had only 3 full years in the big leagues.

Save % isn't everything even, look at opponents batting averages, or hits/walks per inning, and ERA, Rivera's #s are a lot better.

All I'm saying is, I would personally rather have Rivera, Smoltz, Gagne, Guardado, Koch, Wagner, Nen, or Percival over Sasaki. And the fact hes 35, on the DL, I might add a few others to the list.

My point wasn't that he was BETTER than Rivera, just that he compares to him, also at this point if Sasaki was HEALTHY the only closers I would rather have are: Gagne, Smoltz, Rivera, and Wagner. And other than Percival and Nen(and he's out for the year), the rest of your list is joke IMO. I could see a case for Keith(underrated) Foulke, and Hoffman if he is healthy.

Well, a healthy Hoffman is about as automatic as you'll ever see in the history of the game. I'll put Smoltz in the top 5 too, the guy is money right now.

The REST of my list? You pretty much named the entire list, leaving off only Guardado and Koch.

The lefty Guardado has been lights out since becomming the closer in minnesota, converting 89.5% of his save oppurtunities. And this season, he is 100%, with hitters batting .148 against him in 8 games.

Koch is a flame thrower, converted 88% of his save oppurtunities last year, went 11-4, and I read something that of all the games he blew, only 1 actually turned out to be for a loss.

Sasaki has been hurt yes, but he is up there in years, 35. Yes, he is a good closer, and when he is healthy he should get his job back after the DL stint. But if i could take either of the 2 above, i would.
