    Fixing Rosters on the Gamecube

I have a few questions about ASB 04. If anyone can answer I would be greatful.

    1. Can you change the age of created or edited players if so how?

    2. If you manage all the teams the CPU will not trade with you because you control all the teams am I right?

    3. The CPU blocks roster moves I make for other teams because I don't have enough infielders or outffielders is there a way to override this?

    4. Lastly does anyone have any pitching hints getting hit for 10 plus runs per game? Thanks for any help.

I play with the PS2 version, but as far as I know, there is no difference in executing the items in your four questions on either playform.

    1. There really is no way to edit an existing player's age, however when creating a player, if you are patient you can create and re-create a player over and over -- checking his age after each creation -- until you have the age you desire. Alternatively, you could find a "ficticious" player -- usually a low minor leaguer -- who is both of the age and position you desire and subsequently edit him to your desired attributes.

    2. Not only will the CPU not trade with you, it will not trade among other teams out of your control either. Be careful, though, with this option as it will not allow for any in-season injuries either.

    3. Again, you may just have to be creative here. By this I mean trade which players the CPU will allow you to. Then, simply release players from their former team into the FA pool only to sign them up with their new team. You may have to release some of those "ficticious" low minor leaguers to accomplish this. Just be sure to adhere to a) the 25-15-15 limit, the 40-man roster limit, and the "obligatory # of players at each position rule."

    4. This is a toughie. The key here is to do a good job of mixing up both pitches and locations. It's imerative to work the corners and follow up fast balls with well-placed change-ups or breaking balls at the appropriate times in the count. There have some several great posts concerning pitching strategy on this forum. Try doing a Search using "Pitching" or "Pitching Strategy" in the ASB Forum.

    Enjoy.
