How come baseball got kicked out of the Olympics but soccer didn't?

I don't see why soccer gets to stay in the Olympics but baseball gets kicked out?

Because they needed the space for ballroom dancing?

      I don't know...

Whatever the reason is, I'm positive it's lame.

The reason was really, really stupid. Soccer obviously should be there, but kicking baseball out was dumb.

kicking baseball out for no reason at all was stupid but why keep picking on soccer? We get it, you don't like soccer. Stop baiting people into an argument about it.

Has the OP been living under a rock since...birth...? Really?

You don't see why soccer is in?

Oh I get it, this was a joke. Good one.

Basically baseball got kicked out because it needs large expensive venues to play in and 99% of the world didnt not care about olympic baseball. Remember olympic baseball was really who had the best AAA players. Only Cuba really sent their "best" players.

So what? Doesn't mean it should be in the Olympics, same with archery.

Just because you don't consider it a sport, doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't either.

But to answer your painfully obvious OP: IOC wants MLB to allow its best players to play. MLB says it'll work on that (read: fat chance in hell that we're ever gonna stop a season in progress for you fools). The end.

Difference with soccer is that its Olympic competition is a U-19 amateur tournament or something (exceptions is that I think each country may reserve 1-2 spots for older pro play, obvious because they also have the World Cup - Brazil used Ronaldinho and Argentina used Messi for this exception last year in Beijing).

Okay, go back to soccer hatin'.

Locking this thread, it has no point. The trolling will be dealt with soon.
