    A funny storie

Ok youll prolly laugh at my noobie mistake but here goes.

I was playing the Dodgers, the score was 0-0 in the top of the 6th. My picher was up to bat. Of course his batting is terrible, so I pinch hit. Unfortunatly, i failed to switch him back out. So one of my catchers ended up pitching!!

i had no one in the bullpen warming up, so rather than risk an injury I kept him in untill one was warmed up. I put in my best pitching to clean up the mess to no avail. i lost the game 8-1.

that is pretty funny, i hate that the game automatically puts the pinch hitter out on the mound instead of asking "who do you want to pitch" it just looks stupid. worse yet, these guys actually appear in the box score as having pitched 0.0 innings!

they dont appear in the box score. Unless you throw a pitch with them.. But if u just change the pitcher than they wont show up in the box score. Atleast not in the PS2 version

The only time I've had position players appear in the box score with 0.0 innings is if I do a double switch with a pinch hitter -- i.e. use the switch position page to exchange positions with the pitcher and then bring in the new pitcher.

ya it doesn't show up in the box score unless a pitch is thrown. i forgot to take out vander wal so i was looking at the hot and cold zones of the batter and accidently hit the wrong button and threw a walk. i was so mad. that is the only walk i've thrown so far playing.

you're right about that. I do alot of double switches that way too so Vaughn, Cedeno, Shinjo, and a few other hitters of mine show up in the season stats as having pitched 0 innings.

oh, and since I am a teacher, I have to point out that "storie" is actually spelled "story". Of course now I have opened myself up to criticism of my grammar and spelling in all future posts. DOH!

what is it with the people here and their haste to (all but) call people liars? there are position players that show up in my box scores (on ps2) without having thrown a pitch.
not every time, but often, i assume that it does (as 'letsgopit' said) have something to do w/ double switches. i will assume that is true rather than say, "no it doesn't" just because i haven't noticed it.
