Picking off runners with too long of a lead

I've seen the CPU take at least 4 extra steps during a leadoff. However, when I have my pitcher that throws a 99 mph fastball, and great turning ability try to throw him out, they are always getting back to the base to easily. Is their anyway to fix this problem?

i don't think there's anything you can do, that happens to me all the time, i take 1 extra step and i get picked, but when they take 2-3 extra steps, they get back in time
