    Mets thread

Even thought the Mets are off to a not-so-good start, they are only 3 back and have taken 4 of the last 6. Maybe they are just slow starters.

Man, are there any literate met-haters out there?? You know things are going bad when we can only attract the village idiots to our threads to talk down our team...

... hey though, considering the park effects and the cost of a single run at Shea, I'd say Robbie Alomar is having an all-star type season thus far.

It's still a little early to judge the season so far, but I must say that I have not been overly impressed with Art Howe. Did he really need all of April to realize how worthless Cedeno is. He hasn't hit a lick, doesn't walk, can't steal bases and looks like 7 year old in the outfield, (no offense to 7 yr. olds).

Still mad that he left the playoff A's for the Mets, that should tell you something right there. If the Mets can just keep trying to win 4 out of 7 games a week, that will put them in a great position once everyone starts to "click" again. You know Cliff Floyd will be back. Piazza will start hitting again, and I have no complaints about the pitching. I will just say that prior mistakes were "unlucky"

the mets problem is defense, they only have one outfielder that can catch a damn fly ball (shinjo) but they can't play him 'cuz he hits like a six-year-old girl.

That's funny.... the only time I seen him play the field he horribly misplayed a flyball costing the Mets the game vs. Pittsburgh last week.
