I can't seem to do it, with left-handed batters I aim up and right and they always seem to pop the ball up, and with righty batters i aim the stick before the pitch up and to the left and the same thing occurs, any suggestions?

Wait for a fastball in your red zone, very important. With this method I hit 5 hr's in one game on all-star (no mistake pitches). -

Work the count in your favor. Don't swing at the first pitch unless it's exactly where you want it. Anticipate a fastball and swing early. Oh, and the more pitches you take, the better your chances that one of them will be a mistake pitch.
Basically everything I just listed is how to hit a homerun in the real MLB as well.
