If I were you, I'd watch some old baseball clips on YouTube, or maybe find a baseball documentary to get you caught up on the history of the game before just randomly selecting a team.

Purchase MLB.TV and watch to your heart's content. I assume you can purchase where you are. Best way to learn the game. It isn't hard in the first place to pick up on it.

Find a way to watch Ken Burns' Baseball.

I don't care how you get it. If you have to rob a video store to get it, do it. (Ok, maybe you don't have to go that far).

Watch it. It'll cover the entire history of the game from beginning to just after the strike in 1993. You'll know so much about the game, your new problem wouldn't be where to begin, but how to stop finding more information.

The DVDs are quite expensive. Over $100. You can find them on eBay, no problem. If you still have VHS, then you can go that route and get it for more than half the price.

Lol and what soccer team do you follow?
I'm asking because American cities are much more widely known about than (I'm assuming you were talking about England)English cities.
So I would have thought you chose a London team to support, right?

*I'm not pegging you as one of those Americans who dont know much about other countries btw*

I'm just interested because as a English person who is obsessed with American sports its funny to see an American that likes an English sport.

If Ken Burns' series on Baseball is too expensive, pick up a book.

I still think learning about the history is the best way to go. Baseball is proud of their past and without it you're missing out on what's going on today.

I own "100 Years of Major League Baseball" and I think it's a nice big book. Gives you a summary of every season, and points out major facts and happenings during the time. You also get pictures to help illustrate what's going on.

Try it month by month instead of the yearly package. If you find yourself uninterested you're only out $20/month.

Really you can read about baseball and learn the history, but the only way you will know if you like the sport is to watch it. I could read about soccer, study the rules, and learn the history, but all in all you need to find it entertaining to watch.

I suggested getting mlb.tv, but like he says, just do it for a month.

when it comes to sports i dont know if reading a book is gonna get you interested... u gotta play it or watch it... then if you find yourself interested then go about learning the history of the game... honestly a lot of people find baseball boring... some people would rather see a 10-9 game with 4 homeruns, others would rather see a 1-0 game where the pitchers were giving up no hits and allowing no one to get on base... you just have to watch man, check out some youtube or something, see what kind of footage you can find... watch game recaps, highlights, that kind of stuff....
