RANGERS: should they call up Holland, Feliz

Another 10-9 loss at the Ballpark. My question is should the Rangers call up Holland, and Feliz and go for it?

You do realize there are 155 games left in the season right? If Holland and Feliz are brought up, they will struggle. There's a reason they are taking their time, they aren't ready.

Eventually, without question. I'd say August at the earliest, barring injuries, though. Holland is probably closer than Feliz at this point.

There's alot more wrong with the Rangers than pitching at the moment, though, as bad as the pitching is.

Bringing them up now would just add to the monumental mistakes this franchise has made in the last decade, and are finally (slowly, as they are still making some) starting to reverse.

First of all I think I agree with u guys, but it seems like Texas is having to always battle back from some big defecit. I still have hope for this season, but i cant help but get that same old feelin from years past. No pitching No PLAYOFFS

It's tough to watch Rangers pitching.

But if Ian Kinsler understands 10-year-old baserunning fundamentals, that game goes to extra innings.

No, the Rangers should be patient with their pitching prospects (I assume they're pitchers from the OP and responses) what they need to do is STOP trading those pitching prospects away!

Correct...Feliz is the #10 (including #5 pitcher) prospect from BA and Holland is the #31 prospect from BA.

Simple answer, NO.

Feliz didn't give up any runs in his first start for OKC, but he walked 6 batters in only 4 innings. That's not going to cut it at the big league level.

Someone like Elizardo Ramirez or Doug Mathis will get called up to start before either Feliz or Holland.

Why make bad worse?.
If the Rangers rush these guys to the majors and they get hammered how far will that set them back developementally. The Orioles rushed some of their young pitchers over the past few years, none really pitched well in the majors and all are not on the team, a few are not even with the organization anymore.

The Rangers have made some bad decisions regarding young pitching. Trading away Chris Young John Danks and Edison Volquez just to name a few. They need to take it slow with these guys even if it means letting the guys on the big club take their lumps for a while.

I actually approve of this move. They're sending Rupe down, opponents are actually hitting like .462 off of him. Let's go Holland, we know you'll struggle, but you have the ability to do great things. 98 MPH Fastball, Changeup and 80 MPH Sinker...
